Ask for the server named Greg. Personable and service oriented mindset. Greg was amazing. He recommended drink, appetizers and even a meal. We sat outside next to a gigantic fire pit. We ordered bourbon cider, calamari and burgers for both of us. And it was delicious, the crispy fries definitely recommend. It was our dog's birthday and we were able to order a steak a la carte without any hesitations from Greg. Greg was very accommodating and made it an overall great experience. However, Greg had to go inside and took tables there. The replacement server however... not a good server, night and day difference. No introduction, no recommendations, he just used the phrase "do you need anything else?" And no check backs. If they can figure out the server situation, this place would get a better rating.

Business in the front, party in the back. My son and I stopped in after hiking and found a casual spot in the back of this adorable inn. Think: live music, Adirondack chairs, tv's, small fire places, order at the bar. Vibes were vibing. The front of the place was charming and had lots of people dressed up for lunch with a giant fire place in the center. When I say giant, I mean gargantuas. Food was steep and not worth the price tag but after a hike it was the closest and kid friendly place around. The chili was delicious. The wagu hotdog was disgusting. Food was prepared quickly and in the back area you serve & bus yourself.

Just had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. We were a party of eight - the wait staff were attentive, the food exceptional, and of course a great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning again.

Great spot. Went for Thanksgiving eve dinner. Nice ambience and great setting in the woods along the canal. Inside the restaurant is a little smaller than it looks but there are a few different rooms for dining. Outdoor space is very nice too. Great menu and very good service (did not push expensive food or drinks or up-sales). Everyone was quite friendly. Food came out hot and was very good: Portions are just about right size wise. Entrees run from 30-50$ or so. A few less expensive options (sandwiches/salads). What you would expect price wise for Potomac/Bethesda nicer dining spots. But a nice and unique dining experience with really good food. Def worth checking out. I really liked it.

We walked to old anglers via the falls overlook trail and it was a really nice break on the walk! The beer garden is really cool, live music, fires and packed with people. You can order food but we were told it takes a while so we just got some beer and enjoyed the ambiance. Would recommend checking it out, but it is on the pricier side!

We had a very nice time. We ate inside and Gregg was our server. He was top-notch very professional and provided a lot of suggestions. I ordered the hamburger and onion soup and my friend ordered the arugula salad and onion soup. The hamburger is very flavorful. It's made with brisket and short rib, the onion soup was very good as well with a rich broth and lots of melted cheese on top. My friends salad had limited cheese so we asked for more. It much flavor with the salad dressing. I would not get it next time. we had the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake for dessert were excellent. There were a lot of people sitting outside a little cold. They were willing to wait 45 minutes. We had a reservation and we're seated right away. Old Anglers is definitely a place to go to with old world charm. We had a Groupon that you could purchase for $50 and get $70 worth of food. We still ended up spending another $100 and that's not drinking for lunch. so $150 all in but it's a beautiful place and we had fun.
